In 2004, under the management and coordination of Prelios (at the time Pirelli Re), the Bicocca Village was developed – an Entertainment Center (a sort of indoor mall) extending for more than 30,000 m˛ and situated in the north-east area of Milan.
Opened in 2005, the center houses one of the largest multiplex cinemas of Italy, with 18 rooms and 5,500 seats (UCI cinema). It has a floor stretching for more than 4,000 m˛ devoted to food and drinks and which houses the main chains of the sector, and another floor of 5,000 m˛ given over entirely to retail, with the “jewel in the crown” represented by a Darty electronics media surface.
The Virgin Active fitness village and the Play City games hall also play a key role in completing the services provided by the Entertainment Center.
Having moved in 2005 to the Olinda Fondo Shops fund (managed by Prelios SGR), the project was subsequently further developed in 2008, with the start of works for the Bicocca Village “Gate”, an annexed area that will consist of 4 average sales structures and around 15 neighbouring stores, for more than 12,000 m˛, of which 3,000 m˛ allocated to public space and meeting points.
A highly qualified team from Prelios Property & Project Management manages the center, paying careful attention to cost-containment issues and the marketing plan in order to increase redemption through innovative commercial-promotional and advertising initiatives.
